Federico Mayor (Spain)

An international figure for the dissemination of the culture of peace, and the former Director-General of UNESCO. He is scientist in biochemistry, a former deputy and minister, a writer and poet. He has been the motivator of many international initiatives and decisions, including the "Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence 2000-2010”. Mayor is a committed advocate for justice, freedom, peace and equality. He was the first president of the International Commission Against the Death Penalty.
