Mairead Maguire (Northern Ireland)

She was awarded Nobel Peace laureate in 1976 with her fellow activist Betty Williams (UK). Maguire is a permanent nonviolent advocate for just causes in many countries, including Iraq and Palestine. She promotes humanistic ideas against injustice and for peace among people. Maguire is one of the founders of the “Nobel Laureate Women's Initiative”.
