Kim Phuc Phan Thi (Vietnam; canadian citizen)

An iconic story, best known as ‘Napalm girl’, the nine-year-old child running naked after being severely burned during the Vietnam war on June 8, 1972. After suffering for years, she become an activist for peace, spreading forgiveness, reconciliation and hope, with strong faith in education and non-violence. In 1996, she established “The Kim Foundation International” for reconciliation and healing the children of war. In 1997, she was named a UNESCO Good Will Ambassador for the Culture of Peace, on the initiative of its General Director Federico Mayor. In 2019 she was awarded the Dresden Peace Prize.
